Burnie is one of the best place in Australia to experience how sensational cheese can taste. Here at the National Foods cheese tasting centre you can sample a huge selection of world-class specialty cheeses.

This is heaven for a cheese-lover, with plenty of time and helpful staff to introduce you to new tastes and tempt you with exquisite varieties of specialty cheese varieties such as Brie, Camembert, Blue Vein, Washed Rind, Swiss, Cheddar, Neufchatel, Gouda, Gruyere, Raclette and Tilsit.

Take the opportunity to sample the superb multi award winning Tasmanian Heritage range of soft-ripened cheeses, at its peak - from an outstanding variety of Blue Vein cheeses through to soft, creamy and truly delicious award winning Brie and Camembert.

You can taste our famous Mersey Valley range, - a rich, cheddar-style club cheese with a wonderfully crumbly texture. It’s renowned for its distinctive bite and explosion of flavour. Mersey Valley is also available in various flavour profiles such as Sweet Chilli as well as the popular Original variant.

You can also sample cheese from our Australian Gold range - family favourites like Gouda, Edam and Swiss.

Our Master Cheese makers have become famous for their dedication in producing the outstanding Heidi Farm award winning range. The Heidi range truly represents traditional handcrafted cheese at its very best.

Our staff will be delighted to help you with recipes, simple serving suggestions and any questions.

Tasmania’s gourmet display
We have also selected some of the island’s best gourmet produce for you to choose from, including exquisite Tasmanian wine, shortbreads, local honey, mustards, sauces, chocolates and truffles. Our staff will be happy to put together a gourmet gift basket, or select from the great range of handicrafts, including cheeseboards made from local Tasmanian timber.

And of course, we would be delighted if you would join us for lunch: we serve light lunches and great coffee!
